Any infection involving upper airway like nose and throat causes fluid accumulation in the middle ear due to eustachian tube block( the tube which connects the nose and ear and helps in equalizing middle ear pressure). That is why we develop ear block when we catch a cold. Consult an ENT specialist to rule out the same.
