Very good question, My professor used to teach this technique of storing insulin at home with help of two clay pot ( mithi ka ghada) , take large 10 liter size clay port fill it with sand ( larger size generaly used in home construction) then put some water reaching upto upper surface of sand, then take a small clay port of suitable size that can fit inside larger 10 liter clay pot, then put insulin vial and pen inside the smaller pot and cover it with clay port, regularly refilled water and kept in dark and cool site in home
