CKD with hypertension
My father is CKD patient with diabetes and hypertension. He takes clindipine 20ng and beta blockers 25mg per day. His diastolic pressure stay under control but systolic pressure on average above 155. When some other bp  medicines added he feels ankle and foot swelling.how to fix his systolic pressure without symptoms of edema?

Hi Some medications are known to cause foot swelling.. especially a group of drugs called calcium channel blocker… Cilinidipine belongs to this category. Mild swelling should be acceptable.. swelling infact is a sign that drug is effective in him. But yes swelling is disturbingly more then better to switch to other drugs. Will need to know his renal function status.
