You got wrong information, it’s not compulsory. Tere are some conditions in which it’s indicated like phimosis/tight foreskin/ recurrent Balanoposthitis/ pain while intercourse due to short frenulum or tight foreskin on erection . Please consult and examine yourself by a urologist.
