Its probably a globus pharyngeus which feels like something in the throat and which needs keeps clearing the throat especially in the mornings. It may be due to reflux of gastric content what we call LPR. U need to have a thorough consultation on video or physically to properly diagnose the problem and treat it. Cough syp etc will not help it. U give a medicine Rabeprazole plus levosulpride empty stomach in the morning, half hour before breakfast.

It could be due to acid reflux. Get him evaluated for acid reflux by gastroenterologist and also by pulmonologist for any other cause of cough. A nasolaryngoscopy will also be helpful.

It is most probably a Chronic Sinusitis with post-nasal drip. Use Practo to seek a video consultation with me.
