Relative must get checked their HBV infection status by checking HBsAg and Total HBc antibody level. If both these tests are negative then the relative must get vaccinated, if not vaccinated earlier for HBV.
For the HBV patient patient, it's would be better if you take a physical consultation from a nearest gastroentrologist.
