My daughter is 6.5 yeras old and she is getting fever with chillness and shivering since 12 pm and we gave paracetamol and immediate fever and shivering is gone, but again after 4 hours we are getting it again so please advice. I am fear that is it dengue or vial
Hello
Keep a track of temperature and give paracetamol every 6 hourly if temperature is above100F. You can give sponging too. Observe urine output, if child has any vomiting, abdominal pain. Maintain hydration and give more fluids. Usually viral fever takes 2-3 days to settle , if not few tests should be done.

Greetings
clinical evaluation by a pediatrician is necessary to distinguish between dengue and a general viral infection. The early symptoms of a cyclical high fever with chills can be seen in both conditions.Do not give ibuprofen as these can increase dangerous bleeding risks if the cause is dengue. You should seek immediate medical attention if she exhibits warning signs like severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, extreme lethargy, or any unusual bruising.Keep her comfortably hydrated with plenty of fluids, water, and oral rehydration solutions.A diagnostic blood test is required.
