Chicken pox scars
Hi , I am 28 yrs old female..I recently suffered from a bout of chicken pox and it was quite severe as the scars on my face looks as of someone has stubbed a ciggarette...can see pinkish skin/flesh..also there are some craters although I did not scratch the blister. The blisters had turned yellowish during the 4/5th day of the pox

Chicken pox scars need specific therapy once the active infection has settled. Most of them resolve without leaving marks and scars if appropriate therapy (Usually Aciclovir – an antiviral drug) was started in the golden period (within 3 days of having chicken pox). Many of them can still resolve spontaneously in a time frame of few weeks. The remaining stubborn ones need appropriate therapy based on the amount of scarring and pigmentation.
