My son is 2 years old and he has developed chicken pox. Can I give paracetamol to reduce his fever. My mom says not to give any medicine and Light food and good rest will cure him. His fever is responding nicely to paracetamol (gave him thinking it was a normal fever). Right now he has only few blisters, restless.

Chicken pox is usually a mild, self limiting disease, healing in about a week.
Contrary to common belief, there's ABSOLUTELY no restrictions, except isolation,on the child's bathing, eating or playing inside the house.
Do give paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required.
If there's itching, apply calamine lotion on the rashes.
