Chance of Diabetic
My dad has recently recovered from COVID 19 . He was under steroid medication for 10 days. He is using the Blood pressure tabs from last few years.He is not diabetic before getting effected with COVID. When a sugar test was done 8 days after steroid medication is stopped using a sugar testing machine at home, it showed 157(fasting) and 260(PP) as the sugar readings.
1. So is it like he is diabetic now or we can wait for some more days and get the lab tests done again for him to come to a conclusion!?
2.If we need to wait, then after how many days should I get him tested again!?
3. Is it a possibility that after covid and usage of steroids, people may become diabetic!?

This is steroid induced diabetes. U need not wait. Consult a Diabetologist and start medicines. If the sugar levels are normalised medicines can be withdrawn at a later stage
