I am 28 years old. From past 6 months I am facing problem of polyp which sticks out of my vagina for a week or so before my periods start. It's blood red in color and it bleeds too.
I have recently got done usg pelvis as suggested by gynecologist. It came out clear. Pathologist said polyp might be in cervix then. My periods are turning to be late by each passing month. This month, it's 42nd day and my periods are not here. Polyp usually disappears after my periods and then reappears towards commencement of next menstruation. I am not getting proper guidance in my case and devastated with all the discomfort and anxiety this polyp is causing.
Please guide me about what actual situation I am in and how to proceed in right direction.
I am 28 years old unmarried girl. My gynaecologist said she won't recommend surgery owing to my unmarried status. I am feeling clueless.

A cervical polyp is a common benign polyp or tumour on the surface of the cervical canal. They can cause irregular menstrual bleeding but often show no symptoms. Treatment consists of simple removal of the polyp and prognosis is generally good.
