Cervical dystonia
My daughter is an IT professional working from home. Yesterday she got this severe neck pain all of a sudden from no where. We applied sprays ice bags etc to fight with the pain. But it was persistent We were all worried. We took her to the ortho surgeon today, he asked for xray cervical spine. Then the doctor advised that she must rest for next 3 weeks and plaster was put on her neck covering the area of pain and gave medications and injection. I am shocked to know how this occurred suddenly and it was written in the prescription as spasmodic torticollis and c5_6 disc herniation by the doctor. Will she be healed from the plaster and regular rest? My question is why she shouldn't work on laptop because it's her profession...and from where this condition suddenly occurred...I am àlso attaching the xray with this for ur reference...

Straightening of cervical spine, due to persistent bending of neck and Muscle spasm is the main cause of pain. Rest on flat and firm bed. Wear back coller, which is rigid. Use Tab zerodol MR one tab two times a day for 10 days after food. Hope fully pain will be better. Keep PC screen at eye line,  forward bending of neck is not allowed after the pain even after pain is reduced.
