Catract surgery - how to reduce sugar
Dear Doctor, My father is 63 years old, he is advised to do immediate catract surgery by eye doctor as it was already delayed.. But last week when we took blood test his sugar level is very high 376 and also had Bp of 180/100.. He is taking gemer tablet for blood sugar but its not controlling his sugar level, Please kindly advise how to reduce his sugar and bp level fast to undergo with eye surgery. Thanks a lot...

Since the sugar level is very high, surgery should be postponed until the pp sugar level is at least below 200. This will help help with proper wound healing and prevent complications of cataract surgery.
