Cat bite on wrist
My cat bit me fairly deep at least twice on my left wrist at about 1:00 am Wednesday. By 12:00 pm Wednesday my hand was slightly red, swollen (from wrist to the first knuckle on my fingers), very painful, and had a limited range of motion. By 8:00 pm Wednesday, it was still trying to swell despite applying ice and elevating it. I was unable to grip anything or close my fingers and I could barely bend my wrist. I went to the ER, told them everything, emphasizing that I could barely move my wrist/hand. They did not seem concerned. He didn't take any X-rays or look at the wounds closely or even ask if they had been cleaned. He just sent me home with antibiotics (augmentin 875/125 twice daily) which I've been taking for almost 72 hours. The redness went down some, I have some range of motion but with a lot of pain. The swelling has not decreased & the pain is moving into my fingers and toward my elbow. It hurts extremely bad. Should I go back to the ER or give the antibiotics more time?

Go back for an X-ray. And take some anti inflammatory medication, continue your antibiotics for two more days. U also need anti rabies vaccinations and tetanus too.
