Can I take urine test during my periods

Asked for Male, 30 Years

I am suffering from UTI and on medication for past 1 week my doctor suggested to get a CUE test done after 1 Week but I am on my periods and will taking urine examination preferable or will the test results be effected due to my periods.

Although urinalysis should also be avoided during menstruation because blood contamination can easily occur, but if it cannot be avoided then a clean catch mid stream urine sample should be taken.
