Can I get rabies from cat scratch?
A stray cat scratched my hand and it bled a little. I cleaned it with savlon and applied antiseptic cream. I know rabies is transmitted through saliva of animals, but is there any chance that I might get infected from the scratch? Should I see a doctor?

Hi there! May I know if the cat is a pet cat or stray cat? How deep was the scratch. Rabies can occur through cat scratch if the cat is rabid and if the scratch is deep.
If the cat is stray and you don't know the immunization status. Please take a post exposure prophylaxis , a small injection which can be reassuring. Cheers.

People usually get rabies from the bite of a rabid animal. It is also possible, but rare, for people to get rabies from non-bite exposures, which can include scratches, abrasions, or open wounds that are exposed to saliva or other potentially infectious material from a rabid animal.

if the animal can be captured, Keep it under observation for 10 days for the signs of Aggressiveness.
If the scratch seems to be deep, Or The cat can be observed and acts strange, Get a Post exposure Prophylaxis.
