I Would be thankful to know, If a diagnosed MDD male is constantly reminded of a good side of everything by their loved ones in order to pull them out of their negative thoughts, will this lead them to become maniac depressive in future??
Thanks in advance

Hi
Interesting question. I feel that first of all the person is really fortunate to have such amazing social support, that their loved one's are ready to pull them out of a low in their life. The person should acknowledge that support and use it as a tool to overcome depression. The most important thing in life is acceptance. Negative and positive are both part of life and should be accepted with equal grace. Accept all feelings and then work on them accordingly. Looking at the bright side is a very positive way to perceive things, which helps us stay calm in any situation, but let the person emote what they are feeling and then let them see your bright side and then give them the time to accept and implement those positive thoughts as and when they are ready to make that change. Love and care will definitely help the person to overcome any sort of problem in life and not create another one.
God bless! Take care!
Not sure how you diagnosed it. Have you seen any changes in the person? Is he a family member? It’s actually positive if people have a good support system. If you could elaborate on the issue or connect for a counselling session. The emotions you may be going through , must have a reason around it. As a counselor , I would not like to conclude based on the note.
