A dentist will have to clinically check and maybe take an x ray, to see if what is left of your tooth can be saved by doing a root canal. Sometimes if only the roots are remaining below the gumline it is not possible to restore the tooth.
Best would be to go and show it to a dentist to find out what your options are.
