I am experiencing sharp shooting pain in my right breast and pain is not cyclical but remains always since past one year at a single point n the breast . Can it be cancer? I have heard mammography can increase risk of cancer even if its not there is it true? What should i do?

Pain is not a typical symptom. Mostly cancerous lesions will be painless. Since you have for one year, you should definitely evaluate. Ultrasound plus mammogram of bilateral breast may be done. It does not increase radiation risk beyond the BENEFIT we get by detecting cancers early.
