Breast lump /granulomatous mastitis
My wife had an abcess in her left breast and it was operated 5 months ago,in biopsy report it shows granulomatous mastitis (attached report) ,now the abcess has reoccured ,there was 55 ml of pus shown in sonography  out of which 30 ml was removed by aspiration,  she had small place on  her breast  where the puss was getting deposited and  finally it bursted ,  she also has a couple.of  hard contents just like she had earlier before the first surgery. I consulted with a infectious disease specialist (attached prescription) before burst happened. I have attached old biopsy reports  what shall i do pls help, Below are some test that were done . Test Acid fast stain test(afb smear) :no afb seen Culture and sensitivity: culture Gram stain: moderate pus cells seen no microorganisms seen Organism isolated:no growth in culture.

Granulomatous mastitis is a difficult condition to manage.. Even after repeated drainage it recurs. A simpler way to manage would be steroid injection into the lesion when it starts or else a mastectomy and breast reconstruction using LD flap.

If pus is there then you may require drainage again with excision again
