Brain Stem Injury
Sir/Madam My father got into an Accident from which he suffered Brain stem injury Right now he is diagnosed in ICU at the hospital for the injury he is unconscious sometimes he opens his one eye (Not on purpose) sometimes he moves his legs or hands he can swallow water but no signs of consciousness. I would like to know that if these signs are positive or not. how long it can take for him to come conscious and fully recovered. Is he in Coma or vegetative state ??? Plz sir/Madam help me

I am really sorry to hear abt your father's accident however to come to a conclusion whether his state is in good shape or not I need to see his latest MRI and the description of the procedures that have been performed on him. Without the details it's impossible to talk about your father's prognosis... However if you post all the related asks then it will make it easier for us as a doctor to come to a conclusion and give further prognosis of your father.
