Brain injury
Dear Doctor, My wife met with an car accident. She hitted the car windshield and that broke. Initially she had a severe pain but as she was pregnent and was in final stages the doctor gave paracetamol tab. Within 2-3 days the pain reduced. She successfully delivered(caesarian) a baby with no complications. Now after 11 days she has no pain in head. She didn't bleeded or vomited at the time of accident. She is looking absolutely fine now. Is there any concern remaining now? Should I go for a scan?(as we did not have a chance before)

Hello. I understand your situation. Your wife suffered head injury with dangerous mechanism, which is considered a high-risk trauma, warrants immediate CT Scan of brain. But as she was pregnant, it was not feasible back then. Now although she is asymptomatic, a underlying small brain injury can not be entirely ruled out without a scan. As 11 days have already passed, it would be better if she undergoes MRI Scan of brain, which can rule out both bleed and tissue edema. Hope this helps.
