Braces - Possible or Not?
Hi doctors, I am 27 and had ceramic braces, when I was 22 but not satisfied with the result. Today also my teeths are same as it were before i had braces. I consulted with many doctors - while some mentioned traditional braces can be done, some mentioned I can't have braces because my 6th and 7th molars are not there (it has been extracted) and lower teeths need support for braces which isn't there and unless lower teeths are in, upper can't be resolved. I am sure there must be some alternative in the dental history or i can never have braces now? One doctor suggested implantation but not sure of the results, it's a big cost risk so he can't do it. Please suggest. Looking for good consultation. Attaching some scanned pictures for your reference. Thank you in advance.

Hello there, Yes for Braces you’ll need molars for anchorage, however there are several other options other than braces that are available these days. For your lower left molar, Implant is a very good alternative and about the malocclusion especially with lower lateral incisors, you can get either a Crown/ veneers which is economical plus it’ll be constructed in just 3-4 days. Your upper jaw teeth seems fine, only a mild form of malocclusion. It’s not necessary to get it treat unless you’re not happy with your smile, and in case you want to get it aligned as well, there are invisalign available which are your clear transparent form of mouthguard which is much better compared to your normal ceramic or metal braces. To know about the details of the treatment, kindly get a consultancy done so I can better explain the various treatment modalities that are available.
