As per suggestion from Dr Chowdary, my friend has borderline personality disorder. She has shows exact same symptoms. The problem is how do I inform her parents, she doesn't stay at home. But in hostel. And I'm the guy who's she's dependent upon. She loves me and all. Can I ask someone to speak to their family. As they don't speak well as I know all from her. What do I do I don't understand. My life's already a mess, divorced, and I can't handle her too.

Dear Sir It is your friend's decision whether she wants to inform her family or not. I understand that you are concerned about her, but you cannot make decisions on her behalf. Please talk to your friend and let her know that you feel her family should know about her condition. You can also discuss this with her psychiatrist in her presence and her psychiatrist may be able to talk to her family whit her consent. Regards Dr Ankita Mishra MRCPsych MD DPM Mumbai
