You must be having calculus or hard deposits there. If it is present get your scaling done and then after x-ray treatment can be decided. Gap is mostly due to calculus so scaling will avoid increase in gap. And if the gap is due to your mal- aligned teeth then ortho treatment is the option

If there is a lot of bone loss due to periodontally disease and your teeth have are loose then you may need to extract them and replace with a bridge or implants.
