2 iron chelators: asunra 100 mg (deferasirox) 20 mg per kg once a day.Monitor for kidney function.
Kelfer 250 mg (deferiprone) 25 mg per kg thrice a day
Monitor for blood counts.
Both are oral chelators.

hi its not advisable to start chelation on your own. once your child completes considerable number of transfusions, you will b advised blood test, if any iron overload then child will be put on chelation therapy under doctor's supervision
