Your report shows: • Eosinophils: 13.3% (elevated; normal ~1–6%) • Absolute Eosinophil Count (AEC): 1285/mm³ • ESR: 20 (mildly elevated) • Other counts (ANC, ALC, platelets) are normal An AEC of 1285 falls under mild to moderate eosinophilia. Classification: • Mild: 500–1500 • Moderate: 1500–5000 • Severe: >5000 So yours is not severe. Most common causes in India: • Allergies (dust, sinusitis, asthma) • Parasitic infection (worms) • Skin allergies • Drug reaction Cancer-related eosinophilia is rare and usually: • AEC persistently >1500–2000 • Associated with abnormal CBC findings • Weight loss, fever, lymph node enlargement Your report does NOT show alarming hematologic abnormalities. Based on this report alone, this does not suggest cancer.
Next Steps
✔ Check for allergy symptoms: • Sneezing • Itching • Wheezing • Skin rashes ✔ Do: • Stool examination (ova/parasite) • Serum IgE level ✔ Deworming (if clinically appropriate) ✔ Repeat CBC after 4–6 weeks If AEC remains persistently above 1500 or rises further, then further evaluation is needed.
Health Tips
✔ Avoid dust exposure ✔ Use mask in polluted areas ✔ Maintain hygiene and clean bedding ✔ Do not panic based on percentage — always see absolute count Mild eosinophilia is very common and usually benign. If you share whether you have allergy symptoms or recent infections, I can guide more specifically. For a structured interpretation of your CBC with clinical correlation and to rule out any serious cause properly, you may book an online consultation so we can evaluate this thoroughly and give you complete clarity.
