Blood streaks in the stool
I have been seeing red streaks in my stool from 1.5 year. It's painless. I am afraid that it could be colorectal cancer. I am afraid to get the colonoscopy done. Is it painful? And if it is cancer can we expect a long time survival.

Do you have a family history of colorectal cancer? If not, then you are young for a sporadic occurrence of cancer. However, before a detailed inspection, it cannot be ruled out. Blood in stools in your age group could mean a number of diagnosis- Inflammatory bowel disease, fissure in Ano, internal haemorrhoids etc. Best to undergo a Per Rectal Examination first. And yes, with treatment modalities advanced today the chances of cure and long term survival with colorectal cancer have greatly increased.

may be due to haemorrhoids... at this not common.... get a examination by general surgeon

At this age group cancer is less likely It may be due to piles or even chronic fissure Kindly consult a surgeon at your locality for physical examination and proctoscopy or else online with Dr Pandian

Its mostly due to haemorrhoids, so prior to colonoscopy take medications & look whether decreasing or not.
