Hi. As you have high risk factors for heart diseases like elevated cholesterol (LDL, Triglyceride), hyperhomocysteinemia and in the background of these factors you also have chest discomfort, so it would be logical and necessary to rule out whether this pain has anything to do with a heart problem. And there are many tests available for this. But you first need to meet a cardiologist and get properly clinically examined to finalise which test will be most appropriate for you. Also discuss with him the ways to control your cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease if any. Hope this helps. Dr Chandrashekhar Munjewar, Mumbai www.thefitheart.in

Hi.The risk depends on level of ldl and tg. Fortunately you don't have diabetes or hypertension. Also other factors like smoking, alcohol intake, weight, family history contribute to final risk estimate. Mild hyperuricemia and hyper homocysteinemia can be managed with diet and lifestyle changes . Many risk prediction tools are available for calculating risk of cad which incorporate lab values and risk factors. You can meet your doctor for assessment of same.
Next Steps
Meet your doctor for final risk assessment whether lifestyle changes alone would suffice or medication is indicated
