Blood pressure medicine

I have blood pressure from past 3 years ,previously I used to take 2.5 mg stamlo tablet but bpnwas not in control so doctor advised me to take 5 MG but my heart rate was above 100 so I consulted doctor and he changed medicine to metxl 20.mg but my bp is much above normal range even though my hear rate is in control so can u suggest what wrong
