My mother is suffering from bleeding while passing urine. This has happened for some 6 to 7 times over a period of 3 years. What is the cause for it? Doctor has advised to do a colonoscopy. Is it always to screen for cancer? Is it worrisome?

Hi bleeding while passing urine has many causes the most common being infection. Urine shud be examined and cultured. Get a ultrasound KUB. Colonoscopy is not related to bleeding in urine.
