Small black or dark-colored spots on the glans (penis head) can have several causes, and most are benign. Common possibilities include normal pigmentation (melanosis), tiny blood vessel spots (angiokeratomas), post-inflammatory pigmentation, or small benign moles. The fact that the spots are visible when the penis is flaccid and become less noticeable during erection is reassuring and is not a typical feature of penile cancer. However, it is not possible to make an accurate diagnosis without examining the lesions. A proper visual examination is important, especially if the spots are new, increasing in size, changing in color or shape, bleeding, ulcerating, or associated with pain or discharge.

Health Tips
Avoid scratching, picking, or applying over-the-counter creams or chemicals to the spots without a confirmed diagnosis. Maintain good genital hygiene by washing gently with plain water and avoiding harsh soaps. Seek prompt medical evaluation if the spots increase in size, become irregular, start bleeding, develop into ulcers, or are associated with persistent pain or discharge. In most cases, small stable dark spots on the glans are harmless, but a proper examination is the best way to confirm the diagnosis and provide reassurance. Thank you

Small black spots are often benign (pigmentation or tiny blood vessels), but an examination is needed for diagnosis.
