My brother chaitanya Babar is suffering from bipolar disorder since 8 months.but since 2 days the condition became very problematic and he became very aggressive and non controllable.he is very addicted to pubjee game in mobile.hence got admited in the hospital.now doc suggested that he need to take shok treatment.so please advise us do he need to take shok treatment...and how much time does it required to recover from this problem...

I can understand your issue , so bipolar disorder , in which cyclically mood changes happens , sometimes patients became so cheerful ,assumes they are on top of the world , sometimes became depressed
Shock treatment is not necessary in all case , if patient is not taking medicine regularly ,poor response to Medication or quick response if desirable then we can go for shock therapy
For further assessment n evaluation need to consult Psychiatrist
