Bilurubin in new born baby
Hello Doctor,
Is it necessary for the new born to be placed in Phototherapy when shown yellow colour or exposing to sunlight is better? Why is it doctors prefer to keep child in nicu rather than exposing baby to sunlight? Can you please clear my doubt?

Greetings it depends upon the value of bilirubin for the baby and other factors like blood group, gestation age.
