Teeth cleaning is done by the procedure called as scaling and it only remove the deposits that have been accumulated till that date and the deposits which cannot be removed by toothbrushing.
It does not in any way imply that the new deposits of plaque will not be forming again.
So meticulous plaque removal by the patient after the treatment is the most important thing in the post operative maintenance of the effect of cleaning the teeth.
You might be brushing twice a day but unless the technique is appropriate plaque accumulation cannot be avoided.
So guidance about a proper brushing technique needs to be taken from your dentist so that you can maintain the results of the procedure that you have underwent.
You might feel that using a toothbrush to clean your tongue is not being effective but nonetheless you should not stop cleaning your time with your toothbrush every time after you brush your teeth.
Using a tongue cleaner whether it is plastic or metal or wooden would not be recommended in any circumstance.
