Baby passing stool with mucus and blood.
Hi My female 8 month baby passing stools with mucus and blood discharge. She grunts while passing motion but she will pass only 2-3 drops of motion . Have done stool routine and occult blood test. Motion doesnt have any smell. Pls check attached report. Pls suggest me how to stop loose motions. As per doctors advice I am giving econorm 1/2 half sachet mixed with water twice a day. Doctor also prescribed non cow milk items and zifi 50mg/50ml readymix syrup. Pls let us know how to stop this motions.

Its better to do abdominal sonography to rule out other pathology in infants who has blood in stool...

Looks like bacillary dysentry... its should get control with the antibiotics which were already given by your doctor...loose stools will take few days to get control. Till then you should maintain hydration with liquids like ORS. You may add Redotil sachet thrice a day and Z&D drops 1ml once a day

If baby is dull, poor feeding and less urine consult your pediatrician immediately
