Hello. Breath holding spells is a benign condition, mostly found in newborns and can also be found in children upto 4-5 years of age. Many episodes are associated with incidents that a child finds irritating or when the child is angry. There has been association with breath holding spells and anemia and also prolonged duration of breath holding can end up in seizure on rare occasions. Consult a pediatrician once to rule out these. If ruled out, there’s nothing to worry.
