Hello Doc. I have a 14 month old baby boy. Since both of us are working full-time, we're forced to leave our baby at a daycare centre from 7am to 5:30pm.
I've observed that after spending a full day at daycare, he wakes up at night frequently and cries inconsolably. He falls asleep again after 10-15 minutes. This usually happens when he has spent a day in the daycare.
When I pick him up from the daycare, he's happy, hugs me, and won't leave me even for a minute.
This makes me wonder, what could be the reason for frequent night wake-ups?

You both need to correct and adjust your professional schedule. A baby of just 14 months won't be able to handle the maternal or paternal separation for more than 2 hrs.
It's very important that you give your time to the baby during the day as well as at night with intermittent gaps.
Most of the babies might experience lack of being loved or deserted when they grow up, because childhood traumas play a very important role in one's psychological and emotional development.
So please be cautious...
As per Freudian psychology - First five years of the child are very important for overall development.
I hope... you understood the concern about delivering time as per priority.
You can seek psychological health care support from an expert psychologist.
You both need to attend.
Do not neglect or avoid.... you will have to pay for it later...

Hi, Staying away from the parents for a long time can cause stress and anxiety. You need to be a hundred percent sure about the place where you are leaving your baby.Physical or mental abuse can cause nigh terror.Act immediately
It sounds like your baby might be experiencing some separation anxiety or difficulty with sleep transitions. Things that can help are bedtime routine, creating a calm sleep environment, and gradually teaching your baby to self-soothe.
Keep the environment of daycare monitored. Talk to other moms who leave their child in day care might also be beneficial.
Find out your kid's routine in the day care, talk to the caretaker about how the kid is at play school. Try to contemplate what could be the root cause the toddler is not getting accustomed to day care. Any other observable behaviour changes apart from crying at night. Usually Kids sleep continuously when they are 2 years old. Take a day off from work and ask whether you can join the kid in play school for some time or observe the kid through a CCTV camera as recommended by a psychologist here. If the play school is not having CCTV camera arrangements, figure out if there are any mobile apps to view your child at playschool from your work place. You can try hugging, physical contact with mother can reduce anxiety and fear of the kid. Once you are done with work, try spending quality time with kid and observe the behaviour of the kid on and off.

Hi,
Your baby's night waking after daycare could be due to separation anxiety, overstimulation, adjustment to the daycare routine, physical discomfort, or a need for comfort. To address this, establish a consistent bedtime routine, provide comfort and reassurance, communicate with the daycare staff, check for physical discomfort, and give it time. Consider discussing the possibility of having access to CCTV footage at the daycare. This would allow you to observe your baby's activities and interactions during the day, providing insights into his experiences and behaviors that could be affecting his sleep. If concerns persist, consult your pediatrician.
