The ‘painless vaccine’ is DTP with acellular pertussis component- DTaP. More than it being painless, the important part is these vaccines have changed less chance of an allergic reaction(which by itself is very rare). Also, the child has less chance of a fever. It’s more comfortable for the baby and the immunogenicity is very much equivalent to the whole cell pertussis vaccines. But it’s costly - can cost upto 3000 Rs, while the government supplies whole cell vaccines for free. Ultimately it’s a choice you have to make.
