Hi, my 2 month is exclusively on breastfeeding only and found out he has cmpa on 30th June. Are these allergic reactions because of cmpa or something else ? I have completely stopped dairy products from July 1st. The images are as of today. It's there in several spots too.
Please help! Thanks

Hello, I understand your concern
Your baby has Cow’s Milk Protein Allergy (CMPA), which can affect not just digestion but also the skin. These patches are not infections and are commonly seen in babies with CMPA or atopic tendency. Since you’ve stopped dairy, these skin changes are part of the body’s gradual healing, not a new reaction. Hypopigmentation is temporary and may take weeks to resolve — the skin color usually returns with time.
Next Steps
Gentle skin care: Apply emollient frequently (e.g., coconut oil, Cetaphil/Aquasoft, or plain petroleum jelly) Avoid using soap over affected area; use only mild cleansers like Syndet bars or plain water
Clothing & Hygiene: Use soft cotton clothes, avoid tight diapers, Wash clothes with mild detergent, no antiseptics or fabric softeners
No Need for Steroids: Unless there is significant redness or itching (which there isn’t here), topical steroids are not needed
Continue Dairy Elimination in Maternal Diet: As advised for CMPA, continue strict avoidance of milk, ghee, curd, paneer, butter for the mother
Supplement calcium + vitamin D for mother
Health Tips
Red flags:
If rash spreads, oozes, develops blisters
If baby becomes irritable, feeding poorly, or develops fever
If no skin improvement over 2–3 weeks despite moisturization
