Asked for bile acid test in 27 weeks
Hi All,
My wife has been asked for bile acid test. Can someone explain me here, that why this test is conducted and what are the remedies for this.
She is 27 weeks pregnant now. Here are her test report where the lft shows increased levels. She is under medication such as progesterone and duphaston. Moreover she also sometime have itchy skin, which comes and goes.

In many patients LFT deranged moderately during pregnancy which causes pruritis and other skin problems

It’s because her liver function is deranged so bile test is conducted if the level is high it can affect the baby and the mother otherwise if it is controlled by medicine don’t worry
