Genetics plays a significant role in psychiatric illnesses. But it's not the only thing that decides vulnerability to a disease in the offspring. Environment in which the child is brought up also has its own weightage. Having the genes does not indicate that the illness will surely emerge. Focus on your own treatment, maintain a cordial environment at home,  and treat your kid with love and support.
