Are veneers permanent?
Can veneers be removed in case of discoloration or any other issue, once I get them? Also, how long/tough is the procedure in case the answer is yes?

They can be removed, no issue regarding that. It's a technique sensitive procedure but fine in removing them, not that difficult.
