Are stents are safe in angiography
Dear sir, Cardiologist suggested my mother for angiography as she suffers pain at heart and breast part since four months. And also said if there are any blockages there need to be place the stents. We are so much afraid for the same and how it is bad for life. My mother is 65 years old. Is it safe for her to place the stents in arterries or blood vessels in this age. Is there any medication for blockages. We are not so favour for stents. But we will go for angiography and if there are any blockages then we would like to heal or reduce the blockages with medication. Is it possible? Or do we really need to go for stents. Pls suggest us sir. Second opinion.

Hi, blockage of 70% or more needs stent or by pass surgery depends upon the angiogram reports. Its safe treatment. Further management can be discussed after angiogram report.
