AP dimension of spinal chord
My MRI of Lumbo Sacral Spine with whole spine hip screening says following details..
The AP dimension of spinal canal at disc level are as follows:
L1-L2 = 1.7 cm
L2-L3 = 1.5 cm
L3-L4 = 1.5 cm
L4-L5 = 1.0 cm
L5-S1 = 1.3 cm
Please tell what does this mean and what is the normal range of AP dimension.

These are to be correlated clinically , many a times the dimensions on mri hold no meaning if it clinically is asymptomatic.

You got a MRI SPINE done, that would mean that you would be having back pain or leg pain radiating from the back. It shows evidently that there is narrowing of the disc space between the lower spine levels so are your symptoms for the same.
You should consult an orthopaedician nearby to get the treatment for the same as you would be able to elaborately tell about your symptoms and he will be examining you to know about the deficits if there are any.
Normal range of space in the lumbar spine is between 1.2 to 1.7cm (for your knowledge).
As for now, if you are having pain over lower back you should do hot water bag/heat pad fomentation and if you are experiencing any pain or tingling or numbness over the leg, you should start with some neurovitamins for the same. For any other queries you can always contact me.
