Anxiety due to retirement scare
My father currently works in the ministry of external affairs and he will be retiring this year. However over the last few months he seems to be very lost, agitated and irritated. He loses his cool at little things and is not able to behave normally in social gatherings or at work. This as you can guess is worrying the family. We think this might be because of the post retirement life scare but we are not sure. We also do not know what kind of therapy is required for a case like this. Would you be able to shed some light on this regards as to what kind of treatment or therapy we should look into? Please do let me know.

Probably,  true. There could be other related issues  because  of his retirement. From his perspective, he may be little apprehensive about it.
Next Steps
You can fix an appointment  with a psychological counselor in your city,  so that he can share his feelings vs to them freely.
