Anxiety & Stalopam withdrawal symptoms
Hi Experts, I have been taking stalopam 5-10 mg and Ciplar 10 mg for the last 3.5 to 4 years  , recently I developed persistent numbness in my legs, My Doc said I might have developed tolerance against that 5 mg dose. Currently I'm completely off stalopam and taking Benzo in sos in the meantime to cover anxiety and will restart stalopam after 1 month so that the receptors work again. After stopping stalopam 5mg Now I have developed a severe itching sensation in the entire body and pain like cramps near ribs and also forehead ache (temple area). My face and forehead also feel burning and numbness is still there which started initially in my foot. I understand anxiety is weird and gives a lot of symptoms but I just want to understand if these common withdrawal symptoms are or am I missing something serious which is undiagnosed like cancer or tumor as I have health anxiety issues so these thoughts are coming in a lot

Hi Thanks for reaching out. Consult a doctor and explain about side effect of medication. Also consult a psychologist to manage anxiety and feel calm. I suggest to consult the doctor who prescribed the medication or get a second opinion. I understand you are feeling extremely anxious about your health. Try to not stress too much. Avoid having too much of negative thoughts. If you feel health anxiety is severe to a point that it affects well-being consult a psychologist for counselling sessions.

Hi, It is important to understand that withdrawal symptoms from antidepressants like stalopam can vary from person to person. What you are experiencing is likely due to the discontinuation of the medication and not necessarily a sign of a serious underlying condition like cancer or a tumor. It is not uncommon to experience physical symptoms such as itching, pain, and numbness when stopping antidepressants, especially if you have been taking them for a long time. These symptoms are typically temporary and should improve as your body adjusts to being off the medication. However, it is always important to discuss any new or concerning symptoms with your doctor to rule out any potential underlying issues. They can provide guidance on how to manage the withdrawal symptoms and determine if any further evaluation or treatment is needed. In the meantime, try to practice relaxation techniques, mindfulness, and self-care to help manage your anxiety and physical symptoms.

Consult the same doctor and tell all your withdrawal symptoms and clarify your doubts as in whether there are some other health issues that are undiagnosed. The more you convey to your doctor, the chances of this by itself causing anxiety will reduce. Be politely assertive with the doctor if it is too much to handle, convey that to him too.
Next Steps
Consult the same doctor
