Dear Sir, Drooping of eyelids is not one of the known common side effects of Aripiprazole. Aripiprazole is one of the novel drug and is a dopamine modulator. The commonest problem encountered with is Akathesia ie a subjective feeling of restlessness (in a small number of patients). It is true that some of the medicines do cause EPS and also raise prolactin - Aripiprazole has very small chances of doing so. I recommend you to openly discuss it with your Psychiatrist rather than Ophthalmologist. He/ she will definitely be able to help you. It is quite possible that your Ophthalmologist has provided you a general information about dopamine blockers which, actually is quite different from Aripiprazole 's profile. Please do talk with your Psychiatrist because Schizophrenia is something that should not be taken lightly. Hope things take a better turn..... Wishing speedy recovery for your wife. Regards.
Next Steps
Do talk to your Psychiatrist.
