Anti depressants aren't working
I am a recently diagnosed alcoholic person with depression and anxiety, I think I scored 21 on the quiz, I can't remember the name of it. When I went to see my GP about sertraline not working for me, he increased the dose to 100mg. I've found myself unable to stop drinking and in fact drinking more only to get rid of the anxiety and putting off the feeling that I want to kill myself and being an all round failure. I don't know what to do at this point because my doctor said the sertraline work.

I can understand the distress you are through. Alcohol and depression works together. The treatment consist of managing both the problem at the same time. You need to address the alcohol problem and also the depression. Underlying anxiety problem is also suspected. There is no textbook tteatment plan. The treatment needs to be tailored. It may happen that certain drugs may not work and changing or trying a different medications can be required.
Next Steps
I would strongly suggest to discuss it with your treating Consultant. If you are not satisfied by the treatment, you may also consider for a second opinion. An admission to hospital can be needed.
