Usually with sprain you can walk on it with boot. Avoid inversion for six weeks. It will take six weeks to heal. Consult orthopaedic doctor

It depends on how bad your ankle was hurt. It is difficult to tell you the exact chronology of the process but if it is a ligament injury it can take anywhere between 4 to 6 weeks to heal completely. As far as weight bearing goes as it's been nearly two weeks the swelling and pain should have subsided, if you have consulted an orthopedic surgeon and followed his advise of limb elevation, ice pack application and certain medications, it can be started as long as the pain can be tolerated. Again it's difficult to comment without an examination.
Next Steps
Consult an orthopaedic surgeon if not done. Slowly start mobilizing the ankle and gradually start bearing weight if the pain is tolerable.
Health Tips
Make sure to keep the limb elevated when resting and not be over zealous in walking.
